Real Wedding by Elementz of Photographie

On a winter night, Lisa and Cliff met at a local Coffee Shop—Tim Hortons. Lisa was enjoying a coffee with a friend. Cliff had just finished teaching karate across the road. He made his move and approached her but it appeared to him that she was not interested. He was, however, pleasantly surprised when he found a note written for him, posted on the door of the karate club 3 months later.

"I remember meeting Cliff for the first time at Tim Hortons. Something about him kept me intrigued and wanting to meet him again. It took me a bit of time, but all good things come to those who wait," Lisa laughed. Cliff and Lisa began dating and one year later he proposed. The planning had begun when the couple decided that their time to wed was not quite right. They parted for almost three years and in that time both realized they were missing something significant—they missed each other and needed to be together. "When you love someone, you need to be willing to let them go and if they come back to you then you know they will be yours forever."

Because Lisa and Cliff are adventurous and enjoy outdoor activities, in August of 2009, Cliff decided to surprise Lisa. He arranged her first skydiving jump.

They jumped 13,500 feet from the sky…and unbeknownst to Lisa, Cliff had landed before her. He was awaiting her arrival on bended knee.

When Lisa landed Cliff asked her to be his wife. It was all very romantic. "I was extremely nervous, not about jumping from the plane, but about asking for Lisa's hand in marriage," says Cliff. And new wedding plans began.

Their romantic destination wedding was in the Mayan Riviera: a beautiful beach ceremony with 72 family members and friends. Upon arrival in Toronto (they had 2 days to prepare for their second wedding celebration) they celebrated at the Mississauga Convention Centre with 450 guests. The evening began with the Toronto All Stars Big Band while guests mingled among stations of sumptuous food and drink. Guests made their way into the opulent dining area. Grand crystal chandeliers warmed the ballroom and each table was decorated with crystal votives and floral centerpieces of roses in shades of fuschia pink, pale pinks and purples.  The ballroom décor was created by the team at Elegante Décor, the on-site design coordinators at the Mississauga Convention Centre
