Studio 2000

Real Wedding by Studio 2000

Talia and David were married under the chuppah in the courtyard of the Liberty Grand. Their love story began three years ago when the couple met on a Jewish online dating service. As their love blossomed, they got engaged in front of 100 family and friends at Talia's leap year birthday bash, and then got married on August the second.

Liz Wanless of Great Events helped with the day-of wedding co-ordination, making sure the day ran smoothly and on sche- dule. The theme of their wedding was butterflies, and this remained constant throughout, which included a butterfly release. Everything from the stationary to the décor was planned to perfection with utmost attention to detail.

It began with the invite. Each invitation, by Pulp and Pearl, was mailed in a custom-designed box that matched their colour palette: pink, silver, and black. As guests arrived, a scrapbook told their story: the proposal, engagement party, shower, and bachelor/bachelorette parties.

The 7-foot-long engagement photo, by George Paatashvili of Studio 2000, was on display and two digital picture frames showed slideshows of the happy couple.

Guests were asked to write notes to the couple and hang them on the wishing tree. In front of the podium was an ice sculpture in the shape of a butterfly with the couple's name carved into each wing with their wedding date centered below. The cake, by Carla Rocha of Cake Therapy, was spectacular. In keeping with the theme, Carla created a 5 tiered cake with the bottom tier in the shape of a flower. Over a hundred handmade butterflies flew up the cake landing on edible flowers!

It was like a dream come true. From the bride's dance with her father (his beloved tango) to the Caribana dancers who performed for their guests. It was a day filled with sentiment and love. Their photographer captured every special moment and created an account of their story that will be cherished forever.
