Real Wedding by Mark Anthony
Matt Bonner (former Raptors forward) and his fiancé Nadia Kullo had their mdream come true as they exchanged vows at the Estates of Sunnybrook in Toronto. Their criteria for the perfect venue included a woodsy outdoor chapel and an elegant indoor setting for the reception. The estate met all their needs including any profits made benefitting a non profit organization. Matt, dubbed the “Red Rocket” by Raptors fans for his love of the city’s public transit system, lived up to the nickname by making sure the venue was accessible by the TTC. Matt currently plays basketball as a starter for the San Antonio Spurs. With a Canadian grandfather and now a Canadian wife, he is hoping to represent the country on the court as a member of the Canadian National Team.
Father Steven Montesanti, The Bonner family’s life long friend and mpriest from Concord, New Hampshire wed the couple. Thanks to good weather, the outdoor chapel was a perfect setting for the ceremony. Friends and family looked on as Nadia and Matt exchanged their vows.
Nadia was escorted down the aisle by her father. She looked ravishingly beautiful in an elegant gown made by well known designer Amy Michelson of California. The rings, tastefully designed by Varouj Tabakien out of his Toronto shop, were exchanged under the warm afternoon sun. After the ceremony, everyone made their way across the yard to the lower level banquet room and connecting outdoor courtyard of the estate.
Here guests enjoyed refreshments and live jazz music. After the cocktail hour, guests made their way upstairs for the rest of the festivities in the upstairs ballroom.
