Amanda and Mark’s “Winter Wonderful” themed wedding took place at the grandiose Paramount Event Centre in Vaughan, Ontario. From the very beginning, Amanda knew exactly how she wanted her wedding to look. She wanted all the key elements to look wintry, magical and white. She wanted a winter look but didn’t want the traditional theme of a blue Wonderland…she wanted WONDERFUL! From those descriptive words, designer Stella Manza from UnderWraps Décor & Special Events Stylists developed the entire wedding day décor, with lush florals supplied by the creative Antoniette at Gatto Florals. That morning Amanda’s perfect day began. She awoke to see a light blanket of snow which would create the perfect natural backdrop for her photos. Her stunning wedding dress was designed by Vera Wang and was complemented by a custom fur jacket, with a lush oversized hood and Yves St Laurent shoes. The bridal party wore shades of gunmetal silver and the church was filled with white feathers, white flowers and crystals. Truly magical and wintry!
The couple arrived at the reception by a white Rolls Royce Phantom. Guests were greeted by a violinist, a jazz trio and several delectable stations. Seating cards had silver ornaments with white fur accents set in plexi with ice crystals. Tags were created by Tina at So Pretty in Print. Once the guests entered the hall, they were greeted by two Champagne pourers suspended from the ceiling, from Zero Gravity, and an aerialist with white silks. The hall was draped in white, with oversized crystal chandeliers brought in by UnderWraps Décor.
Half of the venue was made to resemble a lounge with silver tufted sofas, white fur pillows, silver end tables and a wall of dangling crystals behind each sofa. A plexi bar – backlit with the couple’s unique underwater pictures – was set in the lounge area.
Table linens were covered in a silver sequins fabric while custom-made white long-haired fur tablecloths were made for the key tables. Glass-cracked ice charger plates and clear ghost chairs with the couple’s monogram were at each place setting. A beautiful custom Lucite box adorned with a white feather pouf and crystals showcased the menu for the evening.
During the couple’s first dance, a layer of make-believe snow fell from the ceiling. The wall-to-wall draping and backdrop was custom designed by Stella at UnderWraps with lots of branches, crystals and snow that resembled a window display behind the bride and groom. Guests enjoyed the live ice carving that was being made while they were having dinner and the evening was topped off with beaver tails, hot chocolate and ice cream sandwiches!
