Peace and serenity that follows the moment the sun fades into the ocean is what inspired this seaside wedding theme. To give the illusion of floating midair, cascading florals inspired by the sandy tones and ethereal blues of a sunset flowed along plexi glass furniture like an ocean’s breeze. Invitations featured watercolour design, favours were bottled with himalayan sea salt and all food was inspired by “les fruits de la mer.” For the beach-inspired ceremony, visions of a mermaid floating on the seascape led the bride to fashion a hand-painted watercolour dress with a delicate blue underlay. Using the same soft blue and dusty rose palette as the florals, cakes featured an array of ocean cues such as seashells, starfish and oysters for decoration. On the mini cake, paper crepe technique was added to each tier to imitate waves.
