A TRUE HOLLYWOOD ENDING

A True Hollywood Ending Wedding Theme

Both artistic and super creative people, Jacqueline and Steve had a clear vision in mind for their big day: Old Hollywood Glam with the classic colour palette of red, black and gold. To set the mood for their Hollywood glam theme, the perfect venue had to be chosen and nothing could be more perfect than The Eglinton Grand in Toronto, Ontario– a movie theatre from the 1930s that has since been converted into an event venue. The interior of The Eglinton grand is pure art deco, with red and gold details everywhere and eye-catching architecture that won over the couple at first sight.

On the day of, Jacqueline amped up the style with her stunning fit-and-flare dress while Steve looked very dapper in his Fred Astaire-inspired coat tails. The bridesmaids wore black satin dresses in styles that they individually chose, while the groomsmen were dressed in classic black tuxedos. The bride’s bouquet was an elegant combination of white calla lilies with loops of cream ribbon, hand-beaded crystals, and wispy white feathers. The groom’s boutonniere was made to match, while the rest of the bridal party was seen with deep, rich, red roses – a classic touch!

When planning the décor, the couple had a vision of elegance and drama that would lend perfectly to the feel of their venue. Black linens were accented with gold satin runners, red satin napkins, and rhinestone-studded napkin rings. The base of the centerpieces consisted of tall, gold, art deco-inspired stands with strands of crystals hanging down around it. The tops of the centerpieces were two different styles: one was a shimmering crystal-covered ball, the other, a burst of white ostrich feathers reminiscent of the ’20s flapper style. To finish off the table setting, vintage film cameras made of chocolate and dusted in gold were placed at each place setting.

Jacqueline and Steve wanted stationery that not only reflected their red and black Hollywood theme but also showed some fun and creativity. Their art deco motif was established with their invites and carried through to their programs, seating chart, menus, and favour tags. In place of traditional table numbers, the couple incorporated names and pictures of old black and white movie stars (such as Greta Garbo and Charlton Heston) to direct guests to their tables.

Twinkling lights of the theatre marquee announced to guests the headline feature: “Jacqueline & Steve Star In Diamonds Are Forever.” When it was time for guests to move into the dining room, the theme from the movie of the same name played while curtains were drawn back for a dramatic Hollywood reveal. After the bridal party entrance, the red carpet was rolled out onto the dance floor where Jacqueline and Steve took part in their first dance. Guests then dined to an exquisite four course dinner followed by an art deco-inspired wedding cake and late-night dessert station.

It was a true Hollywood ending for this wonderful couple!
