Erin is originally from London Ontario and Matt is from Mississauga, Ontario. Thanks to Erin’s cousin they met for the first time in Kitchener, Ontario, where Matt was playing hockey. As an NHL player Matt’s career takes the couple across the United States and Canada, giving them new friends and memories to share for a lifetime together as husband and wife. Although London will always be home, the upcoming hockey season brings the newly married couple to Winnipeg.
The magic of a fairytale reception orchestrated by Rachel A. Clingen Wedding & Event Design followed, brought Erin and Matt’s dreams to life. Immediately announced as Mr. & Mrs. Matt Halischuk, the newly married couple began their first dance to the romantic tune of “My First, My Last, My Everything” by Joshua Radin, gliding across a beautiful, white, monogrammed dance floor. Guests were led by Erin and Matt into an adjoining room for a seated, plated dinner, reflective speeches from the bridal party and a brief slideshow commemorating the couple’s journey to this moment in time. The couple danced the night away with love in their hearts and stars in their eyes. A feeling of chic romance permeated the air throughout the night amidst a backdrop of elegant reception décor, gorgeous table presentations and beautifully designed hydrangea-and-orchid centrepieces.
