Disney Inspired Wedding Theme

The ice castle style shoot was inspired by the release of Disney Frozen II movie.  It tells the tale of a more grown-up version of the two sisters in a wintery setting.  The color palette in the various movie scenes enhanced the progression of time and became the color foundation for our shoot – magenta, burnt coral oranges, periwinkle blues, and rose gold tones.

Although the ice castle doesn’t typically host weddings, the team wanted to showcase how a unique setting can be changed into a stunning wedding location.  Backyards can be a lot of fun too, but when there are so many other venue options to select from – why limit micro-weddings to only backyards?

Interview with Wendy of Asian Fusion Weddings

What is the one key piece of advice that you can offer to couples during this COVID pandemic?

Wendy – Given the global COVID pandemic – brides, grooms, and their families have been grappling with additional wedding planning stress.  This additional worry can only add to an already stressful process. Government rules, bylaws, and regulations seem to change on a day to day basis.  This can make planning a wedding a bit more challenging to organize.

One key piece of advice – Breathe and Grieve.  It may sound strange to “grieve”, but we often don’t acknowledge the sadness that we may feel when we’re so seemingly helpless during this pandemic.  Many couples’ desires and dreams for their fantastic wedding event were blown away in 2020.  Recognizing this loss is something that couples can grow stronger together as they work through the changes as a united front.

If you are weary and tired of making numerous changes and worried that you might have forgotten some vital details – turn to your wedding professionals.  We are all here, ready to support you. We want to do all we can get so that you will have a magical wedding day.

What are the “must have’s” for a micro wedding?

Wendy – Even if your guest count has been reduced, the importance of photography and videography should never be minimized.  These vendors capture all those precious moments and tell the story of your wedding day.  Ask that ALL the timeless details shots be capture – getting ready moments and all the joyful moments leading up to the ceremony and reception, until the close of your celebrations.  Therefore, don’t limit your visual image team to just 2 hours.  You’ll never regret having more images and footage captured because the one thing you cannot buy back is the time!!

Please get dressed up in a wedding gown, suit, or tuxedo.  A wedding is still a formal and festive occasion, so take the time to coordinate all these details beautifully.  As there are global shipping and production delays due to covid – ensure that you order your wedding gown well in advance.  Otherwise, you can always shop “off the rack.”

In addition to the attire, I do have professional make-up and hair services booked.  These will only add to your special day.  Some pampering and expertise will ensure that your bridal look is completed to perfection.  Also, don’t forget to have a trial before the wedding day itself.  It’s always best to coordinate that with an engagement shoot so that you can see how the make-up photographs.

Although some may feel that a small wedding doesn’t require a wedding planner.  I would suggest that during the pandemic, a planner becomes essential.   A wedding planner is a wealth of knowledge and resources.  If things need to change on the fly because things are always in flux due to covid, your planner can help with these as well.  A planner can be that stabilizing force with your wedding details as it ebbs and flows.  They’re also great at pulling impromptu celebrations together.
