Here we discuss with founder Philippe Langlois what got the brand started and how the process works for a bride-to-be.

Q: How did Philippe & Co. come to be? Tell us a bit about your background.

A: It all started with some friends asking me for a “deal/hookup” when I came back from Africa after a few years spent in the gold and diamond trade. We used to strictly operate on referrals until I decided to be open to the public. I’m a purebred entrepreneur with a bachelors in finance and a masters in project management. Business is my true passion.

Q: What is the process for a bride and groom when shopping for engagement rings and wedding bands?

A: Almost half of the time, couples will come in together shopping for the engagement ring. With future brides being more and more specific about their dream ring, it seems the logical thing for fiancés to do. You also have the romantic ones still coming “undercover” trying to figure it out on their own with our help to keep the whole thing a surprise. Wedding rings are usually a much easier purchase that’s less stressful for everyone… the big thing is the engagement ring!

Q: Do you offer custom designs? If so, how does it work and what’s the timeframe?

A: Yes, absolutely we do custom jewellery. We do everything in house, from sketch to 3D design and fabrication. The process is simple and stress free: clients meet with us, give us design directions and from there we generate a 3D design that we later present to them. We do iterations if needed and then start the fabrication. The whole procedure usually takes 3-4 weeks. Our step by step approach is simple but efficient in making sure we meet the client’s expectations.

Q: How would you describe Philippe & Co.’s style?

A: From the feedback we get, I would say we are mostly appreciated for the quality of our products and the customer experience/service we deliver. From an owner’s perspective, I see us as the underdog rapidly gaining popularity amongst customers looking for a jewellery brand that will go the extra mile for its customers. We do our best as a team day after day and I’m extremely proud of this.
